I made a large pot of salmon chowder

... and the fundraising committee forgot about the plan. Others thought it was off the agenda. Had a few folks to share the pot ... the rest we'll try work on again tonite! Not the committee ... the chowder.

Had a bit of time in the afternoon, so I took off with the truck for a drive ... camera in hand.

I've just had a stunning revelation. Driving around with a camera on the seat next to you and stopping when the visions move you is just as relaxing as the sewing machine. Much quicker than quilt making. You can listen to a good audio book doing both of them. Outside marveling at God's creation ... what better way is there to spend a few moments of your Sunday afternoon?

I like your pictures, as usual! Made me chuckle... On Friday morning I drove around taking pics. Thought that the snow on the trees was beautiful. Have seen people standing on the bridge on Hwy 37 waiting for trains to come, but had never done it. Well, when going over the bridge a train was going under it. Had to capture it! Will be curious to see how it turns out.

Reminds me of the note Ms. Vidmar included with a vase she gave me years ago. It included the age old saying, "Take time to smell the flowers." Capturing the beauty of nature through a lens forces you to stop for the moment. Even the slow inhalation before squeezing the trigger is therapeutic. ... I am craving my camera :)

Becky - Is the camera anywhere close to being functional?

Jen - can't wait to see the picture!
