Started another little house project last night and will see how it works. We are redoing the mudroom floor with paint. We have oodles of tile, but it would take some redoing as the lip on the door is too high. We're painting the floor instead ... at least for the time being. Will see if it works and if the paint stays on the floor. I'll share with you when it is done. :) Should be by the weekend. Long enough that the animals will be completely confused because they can't use the doggy door for a couple of days.

Brock got himself a part time job yesterday! That is absolutely wonderful. :) He starts today and am hoping he likes it and that it goes well.

Alyx has her graduation announcements and we have many more to creatively produce ourselves. That is coming up much too quickly!

We all overslept this morning. No one will be late for school or work, but missed the bus and I'm still waiting for the first cup of coffee. I think I might like to have a Bunn coffeemaker.

Saturday was one of these kind of days ....

the kind where you just need to take the socks off and clean in your bare feet because they're itching to feel something other than socks. Where your feet aren't chilly ... they enjoy the fresh air! Not quite warm enough (at least in my opinion) to slip on the flip flops to hit the store. Others would disagree.

The tramp went back up again in the yard. Anna and Tia were quite eager to do some jumping ... one so eager she didn't care if she still wore pajamas.

This just looks downright scarey, doesn't it? Jari had been working on the little red car for days. He tore it apart last week and replaced the $69 heater core .. the job that the shop was going to charge $1000 for. Next came the oil seal (I think!) and then the timing belt. Monday he did some more tweaking on the timing belt, but it may just run again!! Perfect sunny weather to be out there wrenching. :)

There are some things in life that are just worth treasuring by the season. One would be weather warm enough to have the windows and doors open while you bake. Even better ... being able to leave the window open above the kitchen sink and finding that the kitchen faucet doesn't freeze. 'Tis that season now. Absolutely blissful!

I only snuck outside a few times that day, but can you believe this?!! This would be the start of the rhubarb feast. (The freezer is still loaded from last year's crop.) The strawberry runners were green on Saturday and the rhubarb is waking up. Made my fingers itch to feel dirt in them. Made my legs itch to run and buy some seeds. So I did.

This was somtime Saturday afternoon. Still a driveway filled with the look of winter .. and certainly the slippery feel of winter. Monday evening it was clean of all snow and ice. Tuesday morning (a few minutes ago) it is covered with snow. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

That's okay. We'll still pack these away and call it a year .. call it a season ... and gladly move on to the next.

I'm ready for daily runs to the greenhouse to see what else is sprouting, blooming or bearing fruit.
I'm ready for the porch. First I have to refinish the couch so the boys can move it back up there for me. After that ... I'm ready for naps out on the porch ... or relaxing with a good book. I did a test run on Sunday for a bit. My blanket could have been a wee bit warmer as it was only 41 degrees out there and very breezy ... but catnap I did!

Happy Belated Easter

The day started out a tad bit chilly after the beauty and warmth of Saturday. Brunch here at 11 a.m. and then services all afternoon with a delicious ham dinner. I don't know when I've cooked an Easter dinner last ... and I love it. :) A few pictures from yesterday.

Pet Peeve of the day

I am a morning shower person.

At no later than 7:07 a.m. I hit the shower.

And usually I look to make sure some of my ....

haven't walked away with my ....

and then sometimes I forget and I hop out of the ...

and reach for the beloved towel to find it is gone. GONE!!

Someday this too shall pass. I know it will.
It does drive me crazy today tho'.

Now the clock just struck midnight. I'm turning into a pumpkin (rounder by the minute but I do love baking) and tomorrow I'm sure I'll come up with a new pet peeve to share with you.

just seemed a bit easier to play on here and move things around than move furniture or something. Especially since it is nearing 11 pm.

Why I put off these things is beyond me. Always finding something better to do.

Like cleaning out magazines. And finding interesting places to stay. What about this one? A sphere hanging from a tree. Wish I had some really big trees around here. Am thinking that a treehouse (big people overnite visitor size) would be a lot of fun.

I am thrilled to be able to send things down to that huge Ikea bag in the closet downstairs. Let's see what else I found yesterday. Is this just the most amazing thing you've ever seen? This man does this amazing sand art ... only to be washed away when the waves come through.

It just makes me want to take a broom and head for a beach. I think that we could manage something little at Clam Gulch and be able to take photos from above. Stunning!

Off to do something a little on the productive side.

Still no washing machine. We have to buy a new one.
Jari started working on one of the "million miles to a gallon" cars today. Let's hope we can get those up and running someday soon.
